With the start of the new academic year, the leadership within UW-Madison’s Division of the Arts will be transitioning.

Outgoing Director John Baldacchino will assume a role as professor of arts education in the School of Education’s Art Department.

Susan Zaeske, associate dean of arts and humanities in the College of Letters & Science, will serve as the interim director.

“I am thrilled by the opportunity to work with the talented staff in the division, faculty in arts departments, and colleagues from across the campus to strengthen the arts at UW-Madison,” says Zaeske, “DotA works to generate conditions for bold thinking and creative problem solving, and will continue to develop and support our vibrant arts community. I look forward to making new connections and strengthening lasting partnerships with the arts units across our campus during the coming year.”
