Students can fund their undergraduate education both through federal and state funding (grants and financial aid) and through awarded scholarships. If you are seeking options for graduate funding, see the link to the right.
To apply for UW-Madison and School of Education scholarships, visit the Wisconsin Scholarship Hub (WiSH) and fill out an application. Based on your areas of interest, you will be directed to appropriate scholarships for which you are eligible. The general timeline for applying for undergraduate and departmental scholarships is February 1–March 31.
School of Education Scholarships
The generosity of alumni and friends has enabled the School of Education to distribute approximately $1.5 million in scholarships and awards to deserving undergraduate and graduate students. The Karen A. Falk Diversity Scholarship is an example of a School of Education scholarship that is increasing access for our students.

The Falk Diversity Scholarship, an example of one of the scholarship options within the School of Education, supports students from underrepresented groups enrolled at the School. “By contributing to my education, this scholarship has brought me closer to realizing one of my childhood dreams,” a recipient said.
Other Student Financial Support
UW–Madison provides additional short-term financial support for students with unexpected need. A Student Assistance Crisis Loan and The Open Seat food pantry can be valuable resources.
